Polly Yoga is the result of 20 years of yoga and movement practice.
After experiencing yoga for the first time while travelling in Thailand and then India I was hooked and went on to explore various forms of yoga including Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Iyengar yoga. Over the years my belief in the benefits of yoga continued to grow so in order to share my experience and passion I undertook the rigorous training to become a qualified Iyengar yoga teacher. I chose to concentrate on this form as my foundation because of its focus on alignment and accessibility for different body types, something I am greatly passionate about; yoga is not just for the super slim and hyper flexible.
I originally trained in performance and dance, then gaining a Masters in Ensemble Physical Theatre and for many years enjoyed training actors and dancers in various forms of movement for performance.
My yoga classes tend to be lively with plenty of opportunities for challenge; combining static poses and more dynamic elements but always with a focus on safety and varying poses to make them accessible for different individuals.
This combination of experience influences who I am and the way I approach teaching today.
